How design leaders influence rapid demand for product teams by addressing operational challenges and delivering a well-defined proposition in a fraction of the time. Find out more in our course.

Disclaimer – We do advise individuals and businesses on best practices. We have no control over how they are applied unless we build a team specific to the proposition: more details and full specification @givetm.

Ten.

The "Team of Ten" is an integral element of a flexible, adaptable, and highly operational design function that drives Product Design Development in complex environments, leveraging automation and algorithms to accelerate delivery.

3-in-1

3-hour webinar offering and foundational elements for self-sufficient designers who dare to scale not only their careers but also shape the organisation through design.

From

Being the only designer on the product team can be overwhelming, especially if you report to someone outside the squad, preferably in a different country. Several designers who shared their stories formed a recognised pattern that questioned the role, responsibilities, manners, behaviour, and navigation in a complex environment. How best can I contribute to my team? How do I gain my colleagues' trust and respect? And how can I leverage the knowledge to become a thought leader?

LINE_MAGENTA_050_301

To

Being recognised as a thought leader, we must understand that design and the experience are at the centre of the business. And with that, architect our way to recognise:
Business lens – helping you understand the overall goal and ambition of any product team, and how we make the money. Design lens – allows you to take the driver's seat and define your team's experience. Development lens – creates bridges and alliances with the development team to build a high-quality product.

Every coach talks about design leadership, yet very few will take you on a practical journey of fully integrated product design delivery in a complex environment that shapes future organisations through design.

1.0 Landscape Analysis
In order to have an impact on any organisation or team we need to understand the landscape.  We'll help you to analyse the environment under very specific criteria in which you deliver your work.
2.0 Roles and Responsibilities
This will help you to see the role and responsibilities through a slightly different lens. Helping you to choose the right approach to address the specific challenges in a way the hasn't been handled before.
3.0 Network
To have an impact and make the changes, it takes time to deliver value and establish the network. We'll show you how and when to act on very specific tasks to gain the trust of people for are doers, influences and decision-makers.
4.0 Thought Leader
In order to make an impact, you need to show your value, and that can be leveraged by several actions that prove you are a thought leader in your field.
5.0 Daily Routine
Routines are the backbone of the entire design team. That is where things start and fall. A great routine can make the team indestructible and capable of facing multiple challenges. On the other hand, no routine can drain the energy of any team member to the point they leave the company.
6.0 Project Management
You are a designer, and therefore you produce. It's your sole responsibility to map and understand how things are delivered in your business or team. You do not need an MBA, but you need a good sense of Stage and Gate product development and, eventually, Dual-Track Agile.
7.0 Eye on Release
To many designers (perfectionists) is about the best design possible – I get it. If you are in the R&D team, knock yourself out and forever explore. However, if you are in any line of production, your very first question is, when do we deliver it?
8.0 Sense and Response
Jeff Gothelf and Josh Seiden's fantastic book explore the topic in detail. What we'll look at is the application in your particular environment.
9.0 The Power of One
That all leads to – The Power of one. A final puzzle of the well-functioned design team. The presentation that you can take back to your team and articulate the ambition, improvements and impact of your learning in this course.
